Our environmental policy

Thanks to QR codes installed in the rooms with our partner Simon & Josef, our guests can personalize their housekeeping and order breakfast directly online. A simple solution that reduces paper use while enhancing the guest experience.
In our rooms, we provide reusable glass bottles to avoid single-use plastic and reduce our environmental impact.
WAFO Hotel Environmental Policy
At Hotel WAFO, we believe that a pleasant stay can go hand in hand with respect for the nature that surrounds us. Located in the heart of the Vaud Alps, our establishment is committed to reducing its ecological footprint through simple and concrete actions:

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
At WAFO, we reduce our impact by monitoring our water and energy consumption, limiting plastic use, and prioritizing local and sustainable solutions. In our kitchen, which is certified "Homemade," we value seasonal produce and combat food waste. In the garden, natural maintenance and the future composting process complement our approach.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT
The WAFO hotel is committed to improving its energy efficiency through regular monitoring of consumption and exploration of renewable solutions such as solar panels.
We have also implemented a monthly monitoring system for our electricity and heating consumption, in order to quickly identify anomalies and measure our progress.

WATER MANAGEMENT
Responsible water management is an integral part of our sustainable approach. Our technical team monitors consumption monthly, allowing us to identify any anomalies and adapt our practices accordingly. In the garden, watering is limited and supplemented by the use of natural solutions, such as grazing with sheep and goats to preserve biodiversity.

WASTE MANAGEMENT
We have implemented a regular recycling program (glass, cardboard, plastic, paper) with drop-off at the waste disposal center, and a composting project is underway to make use of organic waste. In the kitchen, a strict policy against food waste is applied: unsold items are transformed into new recipes (for example, croissants into pudding or bread into breadcrumbs and bread cream). Single-use packaging and products are being progressively eliminated in favor of reusable or bulk solutions. Finally, raising awareness among staff and customers (through posters, QR codes, on-site and online communication) helps to involve everyone in this initiative.
